All Stars Overview

The All-Star program provides an opportunity for players, who have demonstrated the skills and desire, to participate in a more competitive environment against players of similar skill levels from other communities. The program places a greater emphasis on skill, competition, and focuses to create an environment that is a lot of fun with realistic competitiveness.   .

In the past, All-Star tryouts followed the rec season.  This gave teams only about 2 weeks to practice ahead of tournaments. This didn’t give teams enough time to prepare and compete as strongly as they could have in tournaments. A couple of years ago our Blaze travel program teams decided stay together year round; therefore, eliminating our Blaze players from eligibility for the all-star program. As an organization we decided that we would use this change to attempt to strengthen the all-star program to be more competitive. We have moved tryouts up over each of the last two years to give teams a change to work and practice together throughout the spring in preparation for summer tournaments. The results and feedback were both very positive and the kids benefited greatly. We plan to continue these efforts for this upcoming season.  The more we play together and formulate as a team, the better the experience.

The fee for all stars will be approximately $200. This will include uniforms (hat, shirt, socks, and pants), and 3 total tournaments, 2 away and one home tournament. If teams decide to participate in additional tournaments, costs will be covered by the families. The cost is approximately $25-$40 per kid depending on the tournament. Additional opportunities to play, i.e. scrimmages or leagues through the spring, will be at the coach’s/team's discretion.

The All-Star program is available to players at the 7U through 14U levels; eligibility is determined by the player’s age on  April 30th of the current year. The all-star season will run approximately March through August. Most tournaments are held at the end of June through July, but opportunities will exist to play May through the end of August.  Due to the competitive nature of this program and the amount of interest at many age levels, All Star Tryouts are necessary.  The date and time of tryouts will be communicated in a future email.

We are looking for coaches at all age levels and encourage parents to sign up to coach.  If you enjoy coaching the rec teams, you will definitely enjoy this experience.
